We have all enjoyed a wonderful fortnight in this comfortable and characterful house. The children loved the pool, treasure hunts in the garden and many lovely meals with ever-changing vistas. Thankyou, Frederique, for the helpful suggestions in your guide and allowing us to enjoy such a memorable home which we shall sorely miss.

Fabulous two weeks
Ella C-K, Texas, USA 2017

We passed a fabulous two weeks here in Bargemon! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. We swam and swam and are now ready to face the Texas heat. We have lived in and visited France many times - Bargemon was a real pleasure.

Ahhhhh, Bargemon!

This villa is truly my slice of heaven. I am concerned every time the owners make the slightest improvements (how could it possibly be improved upon?!). The villa, set high above the village, has the most spectacular views over to the neighbouring village and over Bargemon itself. It is beautifully furnished and has everything you could desire from a swimming pool, barbecue facilities, piano, board games and an excellent book collection.

The area itself is great for pretty car drives, cycling and hiking as there is an abundance of quaint villages and breathtaking countryside. Although I rather like wandering into the village square and having a glass of wine or beer in the shade of the trees, followed by a ramble through the wonderful art and antiques shops.

I have spent two deliciously long holidays here with both family and friends, and every time I stay it feels like I am leaving my home. I am just so grateful that the lovely owners continue to let out their home.

A very special place

This house is just beautiful. It has the best views in the area and is perfectly situated, just minutes walk from the wonderful village of Bargemon, with its great restaurants, galleries, fountains and hidden pretty quiet squares. The views over the rooftops from the terraces and the main living room are spectacular.

The house itself has everything you could want and feels like a real home with its beautiful art work and furniture. What makes it special is that it is a house that is also a very well loved and cared for home. The incredibly friendly and helpful owners spend time at the house every year, enjoying, and loving it it as a home, but also ensuring it is kept in tip top order for their guests.

The pool is fabulous and there are several different terraces to sit on, to take advantage of the changing light at different times of the day.

The large terraced garden is full of surprises, with clearings big enough for picnics and ball games, rock pools, trees with rope swings, fabulous herbs and plants and a real live bat cave. Our children have enjoyed adventures there that will live with them forever

We have spent many summer vacations here, returning year after year, and it will always be a very special place for our family.

I am very envious of anyone visiting for the first time.....it is a real find.

We have been to France on many occasions and Bargemon certainly did not disappoint us. Beautiful scenery, wonderful accommodation and we were totally lost is the French way of life.

Exceptional and memorable holiday had by all (ages between 15 and 55). We would dearly love to return one day

Dear Frederique,

We have just returned from an outstanding holiday. I am sure you must grow weary of the superlatives applied to you house and its environment! However I echo all of them!!

Many thanks for the use of your glorious house.

Best wishes,

Dear Frederique,

We loved the farmhouse - a magical place, and a summer that we will not forget. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house in 2017

With best wishes, FC (another author)

Dear Frederique

I wanted to write to say thank you for letting your beautiful villa. The children loved the pool especially all the inflatables and we loved the view.... well you know. We found the house fascinating - my husband is a keen runner, but doesn't often meet people who would so convincingly have beaten him as your husband!. We loved relaxing on the terrace or by the pool. We had many busy days walking in the hills and going to the Gorge du Verdon, where we pedalloed through a huge thunderstorm. Bargemon itself was delightful to wander down to in the evenings. It was the most marvellous week in a very special place, we so enjoyed ourselves; the villa exceeded our expectations, which were already high, so thank you very much for making it such a lovely place.

With best wishes

Dear Frederique,

Just got back... booo!

I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you and your family for the opportunity afforded us in staying at your wonderful home. What an idyllic place.

We have been to France on many occasions and Bargemon certainly did not disappoint us. Beautiful scenery, wonderful accommodation and we were totally lost is the French way of life - chilled, despite temperatures of 32 degrees plus.

Exceptional and memorable had by all (ages between 15 and 55). We would dearly love to return one day and hope that we can call upon you some tine in the future.

One thing Frederique... Would dearly love to have a memory of our time in Bargemon. Where did you get those wonderful garden peacocks from? No way would could I pretend that my garden would be the same setting but I would love to purchase one so that I could dream! If you could give me details where I could purchase one that would be great.

Once again, thank you so much for enabling our family to experience a wonderful holiday.

Kind regards.

I thought I'd drop you an email to say how very much we enjoyed staying at Villa Les Oliviers in August. We were completely fascinated by your house and all the wonderful books, photos and memorabilia it contained. It was all incredibly interesting as well as being a wonderfully comfortable and peaceful place to stay. The views are fantastic, of course, and we loved the village. It was very hard having to leave after only one week there! We left you some bottles of wine in one of the kitchen cupboards to enjoy when you're next there.

Many thanks,

We meant to email you much earlier, but we just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had at Villa Les Oliviers back in late August/early September. Neither of us wanted to leave. It is such a special place and we had a wonderful honeymoon. We have taken a thousand memories away with us. We both hope to go back one day, hopefully in the not too distant future!

Many thanks for all your kind help.

Kind regards,

a belated note of thanks for the most wonderful stay we had in Seillans--what a charming place, most comfortable home, and memorable countryside. It was particularly nice of you to have allowed my wife and me to arrive a night early--it was great to get our bearings and situated before our 2 teens and 2 friends arrived Saturday--the weather was extraordinary (cloudless sun the entire 2-1/2 weeks of our trip! -Seillans was charming, delicious food esp at Le Relais d'Olea--the owner had been away the first half of the week on a honeymoon! But the best was Sunday lunch at the farm in Monteraux (sp?-no map handy) with lively interaction with some lovely locals--thanks to your guidebook for all the suggestions!! Hope all is well with you

Thanks again for the use of your most special,

lovely home,
Idy Iglehart.

We have very much enjoyed staying in your lovely villa for the past two weeks. Not only is the villa beautiful inside out, but also the area it is set in is wonderful as well. The children have had a great time exploring the caves behind the house, and we have all enjoyed taking in the glorious views of the rolling hills of Provence, and the twinkling lights of the nearby villages at night.

Bargemon itself is such a quaint village, but also manages to provide you with nearly everything, including a superb art gallery and many fine restaurants. We enjoyed each and everyone of the restaurants in Bargemon, but our particular favourite, was "Chez Pierrot" We visited many wonderful and interesting places in the area, including the amazing Gorges du Verdon, and the rather different and yet unforgettable town of St Tropez

However, with the lovely hot weather we had, we enjoyed nothing more than lazing around the pool and jumping in whenever we needed to cool down. Fantastic! Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely villa, without which we wouldn't have been able to take in the delights of Southern France in such comfort.

The Hartridges

We have just returned from France and must thank you for our holiday at La Bastide. It is such a wonderful place - way beyond our expectations - even with all the pictures and information it's only on seeing it with your own eyes you can really appreciate its beauty! Everyone had the best holiday and we were all very sad to leave on Saturday.

My brother rang to say that Michael, his 7 year old, was sobbing on the sofa wanting to go back to France - I think that sums up how we all feel. We were also very interested in all your pictures and photographs - you are obviously a family who have led amazing lives and it was lovely to get some small insight while staying in your beautiful property.

P.S we tried all the restaurants and loved each experience.

Hard to say what we enjoyed most. The beautiful lavender and pink oleander around the pool, the beautiful view of Bargemon from the front table having a leisurely dinner (or breakfast), or the delightful veranda off the kitchen. Add to that classical music, wonderful books, the comfort and warmth of your home. We had a wonderful time and have wonderful memories of living for two weeks in Provence as though we belonged in Provence. Thank you for having us in your home, and I hope we shall stay in touch.

Many, many thanks for everything from all of us. Very best wishes

The Havemeyer

What can I say? My second daughter and I arrived very late at night, very tired, and still even in the dark there was the VIEW! Amazing us as it had done the rest of the family earlier on in the day. Bargemon is by far the loveliest village we have seen and we have seen many as we are looking for our own place as you know. All through our stay we kept running into friends on the same mission, some of them having already found their little niche. Some of them came over to see your house and all agreed. A lovely family house with a strong character. We had a lovely time and it all went far too quickly. But we will be back, since our mission has not been completed!
Many thanks.

The Andersons

I truly feel like we have fallen in the land of enchantment- everything from the house to our dinner at le Restaurant du Chateau to the Bastille Day festivities in the village were all better than we could have imagined and being able to share it all with my friend of over 40 years, has made it a week never to be forgotten.

The Engelbrechts

What a fabulous time we had in your lovely villa. Thank you for sharing it with us. We so thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular view among many other things. We took your recommendations on restaurants and found them to be fabulous.

We have made wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
